The Oxforshire men's 035 team captained by Mark Webster headed down to Coolhurst squash club in London to compete in the national O35's finals. In our first semi final match we beat Surrey 5-0. Ashley Bowling and Jason Martin were in top form with quick 3-0 wins with Ross Gore taking slightly longer to secure his 3-0 win. Scott Handley and Mark Cairns had tough games at 1 &2 but both came through with 3-1 wins.
This set up a tough final final with Sussex the previous years finalists. Ross was two games behind in the opening match before he managed to bring it back level and eventually take the win. Ashley had a close match but both him and Jason both won 3-0 to not drop a game during the weekend. This meant Oxfordshire were now 035 champions. Scott had picked up a knock in his previous match and with match already decide had to retire against Tim Vail. Mark was on lasts in a dead rubber game but still treated us to some quality squash winning 3-0 and putting the icing on the cake for the Oxfordshire team.
A big big thank you must go to Mark Webster for organising the players and bringing everything together on the day.
